The story of the consignor of the Keith Haring Collection and her involvement with the New York City art scene.

In 1974 the consignor was living and working in Manhattan and I immediately became involved in the downtown Manhattan art scene. By the early 80's she was working with Jay Gorney Modern Art on East 10th Street at the height of the East Village art scene. She attended all the openings around town and was friendly with many artists personally.

She began showing young local artists at her W. 25th St. location under the name "Salon DeFacto". She showed works by Kiki Smith, Nan Goldin, Barbara Ess, Peter Nadin, Leslie Dill, just to name a few.

Keith Haring was friendly with a friend of the consignor and and she was always at Keith's openings and frequented a number of his parties.

All the Keith Haring items for sale were signed by him in the presence of the consignor.
